Happy Birthday, Hayes!

I can't believe this sweet boy is now double digits!
We celebrated his birthday early, because he will be spending his birthday with Mickey Mouse on spring break!Wade was very good at opening his party favor.
I think he will have a great time at his birthday party.
Happy Birthday to our first nephew! I can't believe how quickly these 10 years have flown.
We love you so much Hayes Stephen!
Lee got this cool 3D puzzle for his party favor and couldn't wait to get home to put it together.

Fun in the sun

We were set to enjoy our first sunny, spring Saturday in March. Each of us was looking forward to doing something outside. I was so glad it worked out to where we got to do them all.
This guy rotated his naps between the sun and shade of my car. Pitiful sight!
Lee got lots of practice in on his scooter. It makes sparks, and until now, he hasn't been that good at it.

He's a pro now, even though it makes my heart skip a beat to watch him. Sometimes his legs look like they're getting tangled when he tries to stop.
Lee wanted to push Wade in the stroller while I went to watch Matt get his new mower up and running. When I came back, this is what I saw. He had backed his gator into the garage and backed Wade in there beside him. He said they needed a break from the sun...so cute!
Matt got the new mower out and running. He mowed up the last of the leaves. I was surprised he didn't wash and wax it when he was done.
I LOVE this picture for so many reasons. One is that Lee drove his scooter up the pile of mulch, and two is that he is so excited to see his daddy on the mower.
Taking a break
Loving the sun and stroller
Matt and Lee put the finishing touches on the wagon we gave Matt for his birthday. He hauled mulch in it all day until Lee was ready for his turn to ride.
Then he was ready to take Wade with him.
I don't know which of the 3 had the best time.
What a FUN day of playing and working outside. Everyone was dirty, smelly, exhausted and completely happy when we came in at 6:30.

Five on Friday

1. I came home today to this! I'm excited that this is the way we're spending our first pretty Spring Saturday.
2. No picture for me, but I consigned a ton of baby items this week. I was not as brutal as I should have been as far as getting rid of baby clothes, but I'm sure I'll be a little tougher next time around.
3. Now that our shrubs are blooming, I had to include this picture. Everyone who visits our house thinks something is killing the biggest shrub at the back of the house. I reassure them that it's not dying, but it has become a scratching post for our 140 pound dog. He walks in circles around it over and over and has worn it down at the bottom.

I also had to include this picture. When we were outside playing, if I left Wade's side to play with Lee, Buzz ran to sit beside him. He has finally quit being so curious and invading his space.
4. Lee can't wait to play outside all weekend. He tried out all of his outside toys today in preparation for tomorrow. (For the record, I didn't make him wear his helmet while swinging. He still had it on from his scooter ride.)
This might have been his favorite thing to do...racing his remote control car up and down the mulch.
5. And finally, this cutie got to break in the new (to him) stroller this week. He loves to ride and never gets tired of it. He had a nasty ear infection this week, so he has to wear a hat while we're outside to keep from getting an ear ache. I think he is finally on the mend, so we don't want relapse.
I strolled Wade to the mailbox and parked him at the end of the driveway while I crossed the road. When I turned around, Buzz had faithfully appeared by him.

Simple Sweetness

Thanks to Wade's pal, Andrew, for sharing this adorable outfit
that is my current favorite!
Even though Matt calls it a "skirt with legs," we don't let him deter us from wearing it as often as possible!

Guess What Wade Got

After weeks of restlessness,
irritability,
drool,
and even more drool,
this sweet little tooth has a mate! For those of you keeping score, that's 2 teeth for Wade.

Wacky Wednesday

Today was Wacky Wednesday/Dr. Seuss Day/Read Across America Day. I had told Lee he could wear whatever wackiness he wanted. He chose his policeman costume from 2 Halloweens ago. Although it still fits, the legs are over his ankles, and I was afraid if he did anything too strenuous in PE, he might rip the seat out of it. So his next choice was his football uniform with a crazy shirt underneath and crazy socks. Perfect! His main priority was not his clothes but his hair. He had a kid on his football team with a real mohawk, and Lee loved it. He's even had Mrs. Cindy style his hair in a mohawk after she cut it a couple of times. So when he asked if I could fashion a mohawk for Wacky Wednesday, I could hardly say no. We practiced a couple of times, and much to Lee's dismay, it required a lot of hair products. He said they smelled horrible, and he would never use the stuff again...well, except for his next mohawk. Hmmm...
Here is the final product as we headed off to school.
He specifically asked for a closeup of his faux-hawk. So cute!

To celebrate Read Across America Day, Subo, Nam, and Matt (along with other parents) went to read to his class. He was thrilled to have them all there.
