Like Old Times

Lee wanted to hold Wade on the boppy, like he did when Wade was brand new. I think he was surprised at how hard he was to hold this time. Wade wasn't as cooperative as he was the first time around either:-)

5 on Friday

1. Matt has been working on launching a website for the construction company. We have had fun coming up with ideas and looking through old pictures to post on it. I'll share the address when it is up and running.
2. This has been one of the best weeks of Buzz's life! Not only does he absolutely L-O-V-E snow, but he has had his playmates home to play in it with him all week. He has run and played so hard that he will have to sleep all next week just to recover.
3. Saturday is our church's day on the Helping Hand auction. We have been planning our food for a couple of weeks. Luckily the roads were clear enough to go to the grocery one day this week for our ingredients. I started Thursday with my baking and finished the final item (#13) at 10:38PM tonight. We delivered our first load this afternoon, and Matt will take the rest in the morning. This is a picture of the first load.
This is the way my kitchen looked after about 2 hours! I cleaned as I went, but it was hard to keep everything cleaned and put away.
My partner in crime was not much help either.

4. Lee was a lot of help with the baking, but he bailed for a sleepover with Paul when I mentioned cleaning. He made a heart shaped strawberry cake with Valentine sprinkles...his favorite part!
5. Wade really wanted my Sonic cup (with water in it) one day this week, so I offered him a sip. He drank through the straw like he had been doing it forever. Now he is a pro and wants to drink from a straw all the time!

Wade's First Boo-Boo

I was holding Wade's hands as he was standing up in front of me. Apparently I wasn't holding him tight enough, and he jerked away from me and went face first onto one of his blocks. His poor little forehead swelled up and turned blue immediately. I fully expected it to look much worse than this. The worst part was the pitiful look he gave to Matt and me when it happened. You could tell he didn't understand why he was hurting. He only cried for a minute, but we know it must have hurt pretty bad. It also made a little cut on the corner of his eye. The other goo on his face in this picture is just left over from supper.

10 Months

Wade has not had juice yet...until yesterday. Lee left his juice cup too close to Wade, and while I was in the bathroom helping Lee get ready for school, Wade snagged it and drank the whole cup!
The camera was right on the table by him, so I was able to catch him in the act. He was gulping so fast, and then when he was done, he threw the cup across the room. Lee and I laughed so hard at him. I guess now we know that we won't have to work to get him to drink juice!
He has changed so much over the past month. He still has zero interest in crawling, but he can definitely get where he wants to go by scooting or rolling. He wants to stand up more and more, but he isn't very stable yet.
His favorite song is "The Wheels on the Bus." Here he is making the horn go "beep, beep, beep," which is favorite part. He bounces up and down and claps, so you'll do it again and again and again!
He says a lot of words correctly now. As soon as he wakes up for the day, he starts saying "dog, bu, dog, bu" and we go to let Buzz out of the garage. Dogs are currently his favorite animals to see in books. He will turn a page back to a dog, if you try to move on to another animal. My favorite new thing he says is "Thank you," which sounds like "tan too." SO CUTE! Other favorites are uh-oh, mama, dada, bubba, night night, up, go, cup, bite and cat. When I moo at him, he says "cat." I'll say "cow" over and over, but he keeps saying "cat."
His first tooth broke through today. It is barely visible. In this picture, you can see how swollen his bottom gums are. He has been a drooly mess and has been chewing on everything in sight. I couldn't even put the 10 month sign in the chair, because he kept eating it. I have been giving him pain meds at bedtime to help him rest better.
He is eating more and more food from the table. His favorite food has been green beans so far. He hasn't rejected any table food yet. He still eats mostly baby food and likes it fine.
Since it has been so cold, I have been layering a onesie under his clothes. I think he looks so cute and chubby in his onesie. He looked so surprised to see his toes tonight and started chewing on them. I guess it has been awhile since he has been allowed to go barefoot. Like his brother, I think he prefers to be naked. He has been such a good sport about wearing a toboggan until this week. Now he pulls it off as soon as he's in the car, and I have to find it and put it back on before we get out. He outgrew his little boots, so his new boots arrived last week. Just in time, as more snow is predicted this week!

5 on Friday

1. I was going to surprise Matt yesterday by buying his favorite banana pudding of all time from the Helping Hand auction. Too bad it went for $55! He settled for white beans and turnip greens instead.
2. I love, love, love the Helping Hand auction! I love everything about it and can't wait to listen each afternoon. Most days, I don't buy anything, but I am hooked on listening. I get to work on the panel one day next week, and I can't wait! Our church's day is next Saturday, and I've been working on the cutest project with my choir kids. Most years, I have too many kids to do a detailed project. This year, I only have 5, so we're going all out. I'll post pictures when it's complete and my choir parents have seen it.
3. Nothing exciting happened to Buzz or his clepto-friend, Clapper/Cutter this week. Just a lazy dog, waiting on spring.
4. Matt took the camera and got new pictures of Lee when he picked him up at pottery class. Lee was so proud of his latest work.
5. Wade had a real banana this week and loved it! Just like his brother, he preferred to hold the whole thing, instead of trying to pick up small pieces. This was after he shared my bowl of vegetable beef soup. After this particular lunch, we both required a clothing change.
